Living Legacy, a new branded content series produced for the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions, explores how conserving and protecting nature can help reduce emissions, support economies, and improve lives.

Stories, and inspiring storytelling, have the power to move us, unite us, and spark change in ways that transcend boundaries. This inspiring series shows us that nature conservation really works – delivering real, tangible benefits for people and ecosystems alike. It also shines a light on the unique web of life on Earth we are all a part of, and inspires us to work together to protect it,” said IUCN Director General Dr Grethel Aguilar.

The series can be accessed here following its preview at the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Abu Dhabi in October this year. The series trailer, narrated by the late Dr Jane Goodall, DBE, renowned ethologist and founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, provides a snapshot of the series and its aims, spotlighting the people and communities working in harmony with nature.

Filmed across 15 countries, Living Legacy highlights human-led stories of conservation in action. The series includes short films and articles highlighting IUCN’s Integrated Tiger Habitat Conservation Programme, the Mission Inclusion and IUCN-led ReSea project, the IUCN Red List, and the work of IUCN Member organisations Bat Conservation International and Minderoo Foundation.

At the heart of every story is a simple but powerful question: can human societies and nature grow together? Through cinematic, nature-focussed storytelling, Living Legacy invites audiences to consider how turning toward nature can help shape a more resilient future for all.
