Information brief: IUCN at UNCCD CRIC23

The Committee for the Review of the Implementation of the Convention (CRIC) is a subsidiary body of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). 

Its twenty third session – CRIC 23 – comes at a key moment, after the previous COP elevated the urgency and severity of the issues of desertification, land degradation, and drought for millions of people around the world. 

Building on the outcomes of the World Conservation Congress 2025, IUCN will participate in the official proceedings of the CRIC, as well as lead and support a number of side events.
